1.What This Policy Covers

This policy covers themovieversion.com, operated by The Movie Version. It explains what the site collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

It does not cover share.stream, AWWDITIONS, the streaming platforms our releases appear on, or our social accounts. Those are separate services with their own policies. When you follow a link off this site, you are covered by whatever that service says, not by this page.

2.What We Collect When You Submit an Inquiry

The inquiry form is the only place this site collects personal information, and it collects only what you type into it. Required fields:

• Your full name
• Your email address
• Your city and state
• The area of operation (residence, church, venue, outdoor, other)
• A date or a window for the production
• A budget range
• Your consent to be contacted about the inquiry

Optional fields, collected only if you fill them in:

• Phone number, and company or organisation
• Which work you are interested in, and the property or scene you have in mind
• Whether the set is built or performed, and an approximate guest count
• Casting preference and catering preference
• Free-form notes, and how you heard about us
• Whether you opted in to marketing

We also record the date and time the inquiry arrived. Please do not put anyone else's personal information, or anything sensitive, into the notes field — it is an intake form, not a secure channel.

3.What Happens to Reference Files

The form accepts up to three reference files. We check each one's size and file type when it arrives, and then we do not store it. No file store is connected to this site. The only thing kept is the number of files you attached. If we later connect a file store so that references survive with the inquiry, we will update this page before we turn it on.

4.What We Do Not Collect

Stated plainly, because most sites do all of this and we do not:

• No cookies. This site sets none — not for analytics, not for advertising, not for preferences.
• No analytics or tracking pixels. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recording, no heatmaps, and no third-party tag of any kind.
• No advertising networks, and no profiling or automated decision-making about you.
• No payment information. Nothing is sold on this domain, so there is no card number, billing address, or payment record to collect. Purchases happen on share.stream, under its policy.
• No accounts. There is no login, so no username or password.
• We never sell your information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

To catch automated spam, the form uses a hidden field and a timing check. Both run on our own servers. No third-party CAPTCHA service sees you or your submission.

5.Server Logs

Like any website, this one runs on servers that keep operational logs — typically the IP address the request came from, the time, the page requested, and the browser's user-agent string. These are generated by our hosting provider, used to keep the site up and to investigate abuse or errors, and rotated out on that provider's ordinary schedule. We do not use them to build a profile of you and we do not connect them to inquiries.

6.Why We Use It

We use what you send us to:

• Read, assess, and reply to your inquiry.
• Work out whether the production is something we can do, and prepare an assessment and pricing if it is.
• Reach you about that inquiry by email or phone.
• Keep our own records of what was asked for and what was quoted.
• Send you marketing, but only if you ticked the marketing box.

Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, our legal bases are your consent (for the inquiry and, separately, for marketing), the steps needed to enter into a contract at your request, and our legitimate interest in keeping records and in securing the site.

7.Who Else Sees It

Inside the company, an inquiry is seen by the people who assess and answer it. Outside it, we rely on these service providers, who process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Fly.io — Application hosting and server logs
• Neon — Managed PostgreSQL database storing inquiries (once enabled)
• Resend — Delivery of inquiry notification email to our internal address (once enabled)

We will also disclose information where the law requires it — a valid legal request, a subpoena, or a court order — or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim, or protect someone's safety. If the business is ever sold or merged, inquiry records may transfer with it, subject to this policy.

8.Marketing

The marketing checkbox on the form is optional and off by default. Consenting to be contacted about your inquiry is not consent to marketing — they are separate, and we treat them separately. If you opt in, you can opt back out at any time by replying to any message we send or writing to privacy@themovieversion.com. Withdrawing marketing consent does not stop us replying about an open inquiry.

9.How Long We Keep It

We keep an inquiry for as long as it takes to respond to it and, if it becomes a project, for the life of that project plus the period we need for our business, tax, and legal records. Inquiries that never become projects are kept while they are still commercially useful to us and then deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner — see below.

10.Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and inquiries are stored in a managed database that is not exposed to the public internet. Access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that a transmission over the internet is safe from interception — which is why we ask you not to send confidential or sensitive material through the form.

11.Your Choices and Rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete it.
• Stop sending you marketing.

Write to privacy@themovieversion.com and say what you want done. We may need to confirm it is really you before we act, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

12.If You Are in California

Under the CCPA and CPRA you have the rights listed above, plus the right to know the categories of personal information we collect and why, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. The categories we collect are identifiers (name, email, phone), commercial information (the production you are asking about and its budget band), and geolocation at the level of the city and state you type in. We do not collect sensitive personal information, we do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

13.If You Are in the EEA or the UK

You additionally have the right to object to or restrict processing, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. Our servers are in the United States, so submitting an inquiry means your information is transferred there and handled under this policy.

14.Children

This site is meant for adults — the inquiry form is for people 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us something through this form, write to privacy@themovieversion.com and we will delete it.

15.Performers and Auditions

This policy is about inquiries sent through this site. If you are a performer auditioning for a work, that happens on AWWDITIONS, and the information you give there — including any audition media — is handled under that platform's policy, not this one.

16.Do Not Track

Because this site runs no tracking of any kind, there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. We honour them by default, simply by not tracking.

17.Changes

If we change what we collect or what we do with it, we update this page and its effective date. Where the change is significant and we have your email address, we will tell you directly.
